5 Morning Habits for Successful Muslim Women

Importance of morning habits:

By starting the day in a positive manner, you maximize the positive influence for the rest of your day. In this 5 Morning Habits for Successful Muslim Women post, we’ll take a short look at what can help you set up for the day ahead in the most efficient and productive way possible.  Although I have aimed this at Muslim women, it applies to all not just Muslims or woman alone.

1) Tahajjud/Quran + Dua + Fajr

There is no calmer way to start your morning than making dua and praying to Allah at tahajjud. The beauty of tahajjud is that you can wake up just 20 – 30 minutes before fajr and squeeze in a heartfelt dua and sunnah prayers/recitation. Tahajjud time is the best time to beg Allah for what you want.

The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: “The Lord descends every night to the lowest heaven when one-third of the night remains and says: ‘Who will call upon me, that I may answer Him? Who will ask of Me, that I may give him? Who will seek My forgiveness, that I may forgive him?’” [Bukhari, Muslim] Mind-blowing.

2) Consume Positive Content

I would recommend for you guys to write down at least 3 things you are grateful for every morning. This will allow your mind to start off the day on a good, positive note. It only takes one reminder to change your habits. It only takes one more little charge each day, which adds up to transformational leaps over time.

3) Eat a Nourishing Breakfast

There’s nothing like a good breakfast that awakens your body and sets you up for a thriving, energy fuelled day. My absolute favourite breakfast is mash, beans, sausages, hash browns and veg. Hungry?

4) Write in a Gratitude Journal/ Feel Grateful

Take a few moments – either in writing or thoughts to practise thanking Allah. Feel the appreciation and gratitude in your heart. You are seriously blessed beyond measure. Take a moment to notice the little things that Allah has granted you today. Some days it may be harder to be grateful with everything seemingly going wrong.

But think of all the things that are going right, even if it is something small. Gratitude will only increase the happiness and abundance that awaits you. Your morning gratitude practises should leave you feeling in awe of Allah – your heart open and receptive to the endless possibilities of today. Also to begin the day start writing your tasks in a planner so you can organise your mind.

5) Self-Care Time

Wouldn’t you feel much more confident if you went about your day dressed in an outfit that made you feel beautiful, with some makeup that made you feel good about yourself?

Or have a better night’s sleep after having had a warm bubble bath? Even if these things are impossible for you on a day to- day bases try small doing small things that make you happy. Trust me they will help allow you to work on whatever the day has for you.

Arianna Huffington has said, “When I wake up, I don’t start the day by looking at my smartphone. Instead, once I’m awake, I take a minute to breathe deeply, be grateful, and set my intention for the day.”

Success in life comes with good habits formed over a period of time carried out regularly, as you start the day with gratitude and positive thinking it will increase your productivity and wellbeing.  If a person is not grateful for what they have, then they will always find something to complain about leading to negative feeling and with the long term practice of ingratitude will lead to health complications and unproductiveness.
